Audio to text editing

Shape the conversation by working with its words.

How it works

Hilite pairs your audio with a transcript so you can navigate spoken content through text. A waveform provides another way to work with the timing of your recording.

A useful editing routine

  1. Read through the transcript to find the passage you want to review.
  2. Listen to that passage before making a change.
  3. Use the editor's text selection and editing controls to adjust the spoken content.
  4. Play the transition before and after the edit.
  5. Use the waveform when you need a more precise boundary.

Make a few small edits before working through the entire recording. That helps you get comfortable with the relationship between the words and the audio.

Review before publishing

Transcription can mishear names and unfamiliar words. Listen to the original speech when something looks unusual, and check the final episode from beginning to end.
