What is an SRT file?
An SRT file is a subtitle file that tells a video player what text to show and when to show it. It is one of the most common subtitle formats because it is simple, readable, and widely supported.
SRT SRT stands for SubRip Subtitle. Each block is plain text with four parts:
- A sequence number
- A start and end timecode
- The subtitle text
- A blank line before the next block
