01 — EXPLAIN
Explain a difficult idea in plain language
Students choose a concept from science, maths, history, or literature and explain it to someone who has never encountered it. Require one example and one quick recap.
02 — INTERVIEW
Interview a person with relevant experience
Interview a teacher, family member, local expert, artist, coach, or community member. Students prepare questions, introduce the guest, and connect the conversation to the lesson.
03 — REVIEW
Turn a book or source into a recommendation
Students summarize the central idea without giving away the ending, identify one important theme, and explain who would benefit from reading or listening to the work.
04 — DEBATE
Present two sides of a question
Assign a question with credible arguments on more than one side. Students state the issue, present evidence, respond to an opposing point, and explain what they learned.
05 — HISTORY
Create a short oral history
Students research a local place, event, tradition, or memory and interview someone connected to it. Require source notes and a clear distinction between personal memory and verified fact.
06 — REFLECT
Reflect on a project or learning experience
Students describe what they tried, what changed, where they struggled, and what they would do next. Reflection podcasts work well as short individual or group assignments.
Give every idea a path to a finished episode.
