How to record audio with Hilite

Hilite lets you begin a new episode by recording audio directly in the workspace or by uploading an audio file you already have. When the recording is finished, Hilite saves it as a draft and opens it in the editor so you can keep working.

This guide follows the complete recording path: start a new episode, capture your voice, stop and save the recording, and review the resulting draft in the editor.

From the main workspace, create a new episode. Hilite will offer the option to upload existing audio or record something new.

Choose Record to open the recorder. If your browser asks for microphone access, allow it and confirm that the correct microphone is selected before you begin.

A quick setup check helps prevent problems later. Speak at a normal volume and make sure the recorder is responding to your voice.

For clearer audio, use a quiet room, keep a consistent distance from the microphone, silence unnecessary notifications, and record a brief test if you are using a new device.

Select Record audio and begin speaking. You can use this workflow for a complete episode, a short introduction, a voice note, or another piece of spoken audio.

If you make a small mistake, pause, repeat the sentence clearly, and continue. You can clean up the recording after it reaches the editor.

When you have finished, select Stop. Review the recording controls, then choose Save and continue.

Save the episode as a draft. Hilite will preserve the recorded audio and direct you back to the draft so you can continue from where you left off.

The newly recorded audio will appear inside the Hilite editor. Play it back to confirm that the full recording was saved and that your voice is clear.

From here, you can continue editing the episode and use Hilite’s audio-enhancement tools if the recording needs additional cleanup or polish.
