Podcasts for Medical Students That Earn the Commute

Case-based reasoning, high-yield reviews and honest stories about training. The shows that teach you something on the way to the hospital.

Medical school leaves very little time that is not already spoken for, except the commute, the gym and the walk between wards. The best medical podcasts turn that time into reasoning practice: hearing an expert work through a case out loud is closer to what you will do on the wards than another page of notes.

This list mixes case-based and review shows with a few that cover the human side of training. Always check clinical content against current guidelines and your own faculty: podcasts are a supplement, not a source of truth.

How we chose these shows

  • Teaches clinical reasoning, not just facts to memorise
  • Short enough or structured enough to fit around rotations
  • Hosted or reviewed by practising clinicians or educators
  • Still useful when you are tired, which is most of the time
