01 — OVERVIEW
Publish your podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts
Publishing in Hilite begins with a finished episode and a properly configured podcast show. The episode carries its own title, description, artwork, and numbering, while the show provides the identity and distribution connections behind it.
This guide covers preparing the draft, assigning or creating its show, reviewing the episode details, publishing it, opening the Distribution area, and completing the external steps for Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.
02 — PREPARE
Finish the episode and assign it to a show
Open the draft you want to publish and confirm that its audio edit is complete. Make sure it is assigned to the correct show before starting the publishing process.
If the podcast does not yet have a show in Hilite, create one and complete its required details before continuing.
03 — DETAILS
Review the episode metadata
Select Publish and review the information that will accompany the episode. Complete the show assignment, title, description, season number, episode number, and artwork where applicable.
If description-generation tools are available, use the result as a starting point and edit it for accuracy, clarity, and the intended audience.
- Confirm the correct show.
- Add a clear episode title.
- Review or write the episode description.
- Check season and episode numbering.
- Confirm the artwork and other available metadata.
04 — PUBLISH
Publish the episode
Continue through the publishing review after the episode details are complete. If you created a new show during this process, confirm both the show setup and the episode information.
Choose the available publishing option and confirm. When processing finishes, use Go to Show to review the episode alongside the other episodes belonging to that podcast.
05 — DISTRIBUTION
Open the show’s Distribution area
From the show workspace, open Distribution. This area contains the information and quick links used to continue setup with external podcast platforms.
Distribution is normally configured for the show rather than repeated for every episode. Once the show is connected correctly, future published episodes can flow through the same setup.
06 — PLATFORMS
Connect Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube
Use the platform links in Distribution to open the relevant external services, such as Spotify for Creators, Apple Podcasts Connect, and YouTube.
Sign in to the appropriate account and follow each platform’s instructions to add, verify, or configure the podcast. These steps take place outside Hilite and may differ by platform.
- Use an account that should own or manage the podcast.
- Follow each platform’s show-verification instructions.
- Review platform-specific artwork and metadata requirements.
- Keep the show’s distribution information consistent across services.
07 — CONFIRM
Confirm that the show and episode are available
Return to Hilite and confirm that the episode appears in the show’s published list. Then check the connected platforms after their processing or review period.
Publishing in Hilite does not bypass external platform approval. A new show may take additional time to appear, and later episode updates can also take time to propagate.
